KL Hop-on Hop-Off

Yuhuuuu,

Assalamualaikum & Have a good day to all~

How's everyone feeling today? The weather are quite gloomy today with light rain thus I wanna took the time to write about my recent tour in Kuala Lumpur. Yup Kuala Lumpur, just 30km from my house in Shah Alam. Weird eh? Hehehe..

So, that day during Matta Fair my parents got a pair of free tickets for KL Hop-on Hop-off tour bus after booking a local package to Pulau Perhentian. The normal price to myKad holder is RM19 but I'm not sure for foreigners. However, you can get discount from Matta Fair as well, RM10 per ticket and also from Groupon.my for RM7 per ticket. Still quite cheap from the normal price, I think everyone should have a go. Although Kuala Lumpur is very near, but I still didn't know there are lots of interesting places to visit.

We started at the 6th station, Bukit Bintang.

This tour bus consist of a double-deckered bus and some of them have an open deck (depends on your luck maybe). However, we preferred to sit inside since the weather was flaming hot at that time. Hehehe. This bus stop at 23 attractions starting from MaTic and ends at KLCC. You can view the tour map here on the website. The bus operates from 9 am to 8 pm everyday and the ticket is valid for 24 hours. The frequency is every 20 to 30 minutes. Here are a few places that the bus stops at:

KLCC
KL Tower
National Square (Dataran Merdeka)
National Palace, Jalan Duta
Chinatown
Titwangsa
KL Sentral
National Museum
Bintang Walk
Central Market

For our tour, we only picked 2 stops. We started from Bintang Walk and the stopped at National Palace in Jalan Duta. The bus stopped here for about 5 to 10 minutes for us to take photos here. The palace is not open for public so we just took photos from the entrance only. The are a few horsed guards and also door guards here. I quickly alighted from the bus, walked in fast pace and snapped photos here and there. The palace is located quite far from the main gate but I could see from the distance the royal yellow-domed palace. Very beautiful and stunning.

Then we continued our journey to the next stop, Merdeka Square. I've been wanting to visit this place a long time ago thus this was the right time for me. Hehehe.. There are a few attractions here such as National Art Gallery, KL Library, Dataran Underground and also Sultan Abdul Samad building. We spent around 30 minutes here. I bought some postcards as well. The weather was nice today but blazing hot. A lot of foreigners here too, some in groups and some by themselves. Here, there are potraits for 6 Malaysia Prime Ministers; past and present. A few fountain here and there and the most important thing is the Malaysia flag on a very high metal pole. Surrounding the Malaysia flag are the flags from each states starting from Perlis to Sabah. However, the grass at the square wasn't very pretty as there a few patches of soils could be seen. I was hoping for all green compound. There is a miniature of Tugu Negara as well.

When we continued our tour, it started to rain after the bus reached KLCC. Thus, we ended our tour at Bintang Walk and planned to continue the tour tomorrow. For tomorrow, KL Tower here we come!
