Pharmacy Bazaar

Last week, we were assigned to make an exhibition regarding Drug Abuse. My team requested 3 boards to put on our articles and also some photos.

Pre-Bazaar

On Monday which was the Thaipusam replacement holiday, our team gathered in IMU to set up and decorate our boards. I arrived quite late because I was from home in Shah Alam. Ridhwan said that some girls also arrived late. When I arrived, all the team members were there and also members from other teams. There were 5 teams in total, each one reperesent one topi cwhich were Drug Abuse, Alcohol Abuse, Smoking, Sex, and Herbal Medicine.

what's gonna work.. teamwork! (Wonderpets Song)

I took about 2 hours to complete our board. We were the last team who left IMU that afternoon. Nabila & Amirah we requested to buy us lunch from the pak cik in front of the Vista B. For the board, we made the border by using yellow coloured paper, decorated the articles by adding some coloured papers and also pasted the photos to the purple papers.

I also had prepared free bookmarks for the exhibition. We were going to placed 60 bookmarks each day during the three-day bazaar. 3 designs were available which I used Adobe Photoshop to made them.

Our three boards

The bazaar was quite hectic and crowded because the atrium in IMU was so small. The bazaar took place during the lunch hour. They sold food and there was also free health check; vision test, and also blood pressure test. The donation box for Gaza fund also was placed in the bazaar.

There were a lot of food sold, for example mee siam, fried bihun, nasi lemak, bubble tea, sushi, naan, cupcakes, muffin, blueberry tarts and RM6 nasi minyak. The food sold were quite more expensive than the usual market price. Some seniors also busy offering students to buy the coupons.

Actually, not many people were bothered to read the exhibition boards. The lighting also was bad. It's quite dark around the board. Only my team offered free gift. The board opposite ours prepared a mini games for their board.

On the last day, we cleared our board and found that there's about less than 20 bookmarks left. Aleen took the used coloured papers to her house because she said that she will use back the papers. At least, we didn't have to throw away our workpieces...

Special thanks to my team members which are my ex-classmates from INTEC.

Thanks to Gaik Cheng also for taking our photos when we were busy setting up the board.

Thanks to JC who gave us extra work carrying the tables to the atrium.

Charity Home Visit @ Rumah Shalom

Charity Home Visit - Group 2

It's today...

Early morning today, not really early, at about 8.00 am, my housmates and I helped Chern Fei to bring down all the food & things to his car. Then, we went to IMU and waited for the bus. Cipak and the gang were already there with the nasi lemak and air kotak.

Cipak, Fyruz, Chern Fei, Ridhwan, me, Wanji

here comes the bus

Khai Qian, Wanji, Lisa, Ho Liang, Ridhwan, me, Mirah

The bus was just a school bus. It looked not to tempting from the outside, but the inside was quite nice, the air-cond worked properly, so it's not so hot inside the bus. We arrived at the Rumah Shalom at about 9.15. Rumah Shalom is actually a home for the orphanages, got about 39 children stays in the house. The motto, "Help the Helpless".. Help! Help! =)

logistic guys.. can work in a logistic company in the future.. but they need more proper attire..

the kids

Our first activity was playing games with the kids. We walked to the playground which is located just a stone's throw from the house. The house was quite small and cannot accomodate all of us inside, that's why we prefered the morning breeze at the playground. Visha, who was in charged of the games started conducted the activities with the help from Lisa and Chern Fei. After some times, the day got really hot and bright. Then, we went back inside the house and continued the games.

punishment for losers

Anis and Cipak joined the paper dance along with the kids. It's kinda funny when Anis fell down during the games. Then, Ridhwan and Elaine also joined other games. We sat on the stairs watching the kids and the big kids (the IMUians). Other games included the statue dance, where the kids had to dance and stop when the music stopped. Also, got punishment for the losers. The banana dance was quite funny. The girls played the paper dance so politely, but when the boys took over, the newspapers were all koyak rabak. So ganas la the guys...

After playing games with the kids, we had lunch together. The food department with Cipak as the leader, distributed the nasi lemak and drinks to the hungry kids. I also helped out since I voluntereed myself to be Cipak's personal assistant. Safwan, Anis, Mirah, Cipak and I ate at the playground becauseToday's photographer was RenYi who was very determined in doing his job. Poor him, his self pictures must be extremely few.

After lunch, we had a camwhoring session, and the we prepared ourselves to go back because the bus already arrived. I helped Cipak to pick up the trash, empty box and the big pail owned by the pakcik nasi lemak.

bye~

Then, we went back to IMU. In the bus, Safwan slept along the way. I bet he was very sleepy since he slept late last night because of Dota.

Overall, the charity visit was quite okay la, but quite inorganised. In the future, we should planned it very carefully.

Happy Birthday Bella!

After several conflicts and misunderstanding, finally I managed to attend a small surprise birthday party for Bella. She's a wonderful friend that I know from INTEC during my A-Level years. She's small, cute (like she admit) and highly fashionable.

This party started at 8.20 pm according to Ida. She's the one who responsible in inviting me to join them. I come to their apartment at Vista B with Helmy, Anis and Azam. Azery couldn't make it tonight because he hadn't take a bath yet since he was still waiting for his turn to enter the bathroom by the time I left my apartment. Like I said before, there was some misunderstanding, therefore, he couldn't join us. Cipak also would be joining us tonight.

When we arrived at the doorstep and rang the bell, Najwa opened the door so quietly and whispered to us, asking us to hide somewhere else because the surprise party not yet started. Then, we just hide at the stairs, behind the fire resistant door. Then, Ida called me and invited us into their beautiful girlish apartment. There were Ida, Saffa, Najwa and Fadh in the house at the moment. At that time, Bella was out to buy dinner with one of her housemates, Aimi. Then, the cake arrived and we shared hugs and kisses because it had been months some of us didn't meet each other.

Some minutes later, Bella and Aimi arrived. We quickly switched of the lights and lighted the candles on the tempting Secret Recipe cake. As soon as Bella reached the table, we sang a Happy Birthday song for her. How sweet of us.. Then, Bella made a wish before cutting the chocolate cake. Then, we had cakes together, I ate two slices because I hadn't had my dinner yet. The girls already bought their food at the stall nearby. One of the interesting topics that we conversed was about Helmy's love secret. Helmy kept on denying about his private life. Aha, his not-first love story. Oooo oooo, oooo oooo yeah....

Surprise!!!

Enjoying our cakes

One big happy friends

After finishing my cake, we from the Vista C bid goodbyes to the Vista B residents. Anis had to go back with us because she was afraid walking alone especially with the presence of many foreigners around Vista. My earlier plan to buy food for dinner was canceled because the two slices of cakes already made my stomach full.

Happy Birthday Bella...

You are older now, which means there are a lot more of obstacles you need to face. I hope your dream to get a new boyfriends will come true. I hope your upcoming boyfriends will be as romantic as Edward Cullen whom you admire a lot.

*Too bad that Badd couldn't join us for the party. He's always around when we threw a party back then at Cemara. He's now struggling with his exam and busy planning his travel in India. We really miss you Badd. Please come home...

Chinese New Year Break

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

Just before I went back to Shah Alam for CNY Break, I joined several of my friends to do some shopping at Sungai Wang which is located near the Berjaya Times Square. There, we separated ourselves into 2 groups; one group wanted to watch movie at Times Square while the other one wanted to shop at Sg Wang. I joined the shopping group since I had no intention to watch movie today.

I didn't buy anything because I was already overbudget during this week. Therefore, I just enjoyed myself strolling aroung the shopping complex which was quite crowded with people who did a last minute shopping for the CNY. Some of my friends bought new shoes, t-shirts and bag.

We had dinner at the Food Avenue on the 10th floor of the Times Square. I tried the Spicy Ipoh Kuetiau and also Appla Juice. The kuetiau was very hot and spicy. It took quite a long time to finished my meal. My face was already covered with sweat during the eating. If Ridhwan and Fyruz were going to have this meal, I was sure that they would suffer a lot!

Port Dickson

On Saturday, my family and I went to Port Dickson for holiday. We didn't plan to go somewhere further because the traffic was going to be jammed like hell. Our past experience taught us to not go to the far place because it would waste most of our time on the road.

This vacation was also joined by my married sister, and also married brother. It's kinda a family reunion. We brought a lot of marinated chicken to be barbequed during the night. My mom brought a lot of things from home since our staying place got a kitchen. It's actually a penthouse which is situated near the beach.

Since we arrived at PD quite late on Saturday, I decided not to do anything with the beach yet. So, on Sunday, we all dipped ourselves into the sea and also enjoying ice-cream sold by the ice-cream vendor alongside the beach. After swimming and floating for a while, we had our barbeque. My brothers and I barbequed the chickens, cuttlefishes, shrimps, and also some ikan kembung. While my mother fried some noodles for us.

it was raining that night

The next day, we threw ourselves again into the sea. But this time, I got the chance to ride the jet ski. At first, I refused to try, but after a while, my sister forced me to play since our ride time still had the remaining 10 minutes. Therefore, I tried the jetski with my younger brother sat behind me. It's kinda fun though. I kept on screaming whenever I drove the thing faster.

At noon, we all check-out and headed to our different location. My sister (and husband) and my brother (and wife), went back to Shah Alam while the remaining family members followed my parents to Johor to visit my grandparents.
