Hong Kong [Day 1 - Mong Kok & Avenue of Stars]

Assalamualaikum & Have a good day peeps~

It had been a while. Iam so lazy to write about my trip to Hong Kong a few months ago. Okay, here I go. Gonna start writing it now. Well, our trip was small only comsists of my parents, my younger brother and I. We booked the flight tickets during AirAsia promo last year. Return tickets cost around RM400+/pax. Quite cheap because the price already includes check-in luggage, meals and seats.

For accomodation, I had booked via Agoda.com. Almost all hotel/hostels in Hong Kong are quite pricey. I chose Ashoka Hostel for 3 nights. I booked a room for 4 persons and costs RM250/night (with double beds in a very small room).(Kau tengok tu hostel pun harga macam hotel) The hostel is located in Chungking Mansion in Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. It's a central area where we could access MTR station easily. The nearest MTR Station is Tsim Sha Tsui station. Avenue of Stars is also located within walking distance.

As soon we arrived at the airport, we took a cab to our hostel. The taxi ride took around 40 minutes to reach the building. The weather was gloomy that day, with grey clouds and occasional light rain.

Ladies Market

After checking in and getting some rest in our small room, we started our journey to Mong Kok. We took the MTR to Mong Kok station which is about 4 stations away from Tsim Sha Tsui. My mother really wanted to go to Ladies Market to shop some stuffs for my nieces. Untung kau dik, kecik2 dah dimewahkan dengan mainan oleh nenek. Your uncle is jealous. Hahaha.. The Ladies Market consists of rows of stalls along the street. Lebih kurang pasar malam or uptown jugak la. But this is one long street. She bought some toys and clothes for the kids. Meanwhile, my brother and I bought some t-shirts at quite a reasonable price. One piece cost RM9. Fridge magnets cost RM5 each. Actually can get much cheaper if you know how to bargain well. Please be careful here, the sellers might be rude to you. Bargain if you really want to buy the items, or if you walk away, they will curse you with bad words.

Avenue of Stars

Located just 10 minutes from our hostel, we walked here at dusk and with for the Symphony of Lights show at 8 pm. Come early if you want to stand in front. It was getting crowded when the show started. To bad, it was raining again. Huhuhu.. The show only lasted for 10 minutes or show. Quite an interesting show, there was music and lights around the opposite buildings. We could see some boats and cruises passed by the river as well. After watching the show, my parents walked around the malls around while me and my brother went to Hard Rock Cafe by taking MTR.

Hard Rock Cafe Hong Kong LKF

We stopped at Central Station and walk 15 minutes to the cafe. It is located up the hill thus making the walk very challenging. By the time we reached the Hard Rock Cafe, my body was drenched in sweat. Hahaha.. Thus, I had to rest a while, sat on the bench, took some phote before entering The Rock Shop. The cafe is located in Lan Kwai Fong (LKF). Since  I was taking orders from my friends, I came today to survey first and purchased whatever already confirmed. We took a lot of photos inside. T-shirts, pins and magnets. There actually two Hard Rock Cafe in Hong Kong, another one is located at The Peak.

7th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Festival

Assalamualaikum & Hello guys~

So, this was the 7th event for Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta but this was my first time. Previously, the timing was not suitable with my schedule thus I did not have chance to go.

This event was held on 13th till 15th March this year. Right after work (yes, sometimes I have oncall on weekends), I drove back to Shah Alam. After I got change, Emie and Sipot arrived and we continues our journey to Putrajaya. It was a hell out of traffic jam! We scared that we might be unable to purchase tickets for Launching Field Access. Alhamdulillah, by the time we reached Precinct 2, we got easy parking spot and we directly queued up for the tickets.

Ticket for Launching Field + Night Glow only cost RM20 per person but very limited to 300 pax only. I guessed we were lucky that day! Although the weather was so hot, we gigihkan diri to camwhore here and there. The hot air balloons were definitely huge and gorgeous with colourful designs. They came from all over the world such as USA, Thailand, South Korea, Hollands and not forgetting from Malaysia.

There were a lot of booths and food trucks that you would not want to miss. We had cheesy meatballs and patties and also giant tempura squid. Just a quick dinner before we entered the field for Night Glow session. For the Night Glow, the balloons took turn to light up their fire and the balloons became like some sort of lamps. Very attractive and pretty.

I don't intend to write longer, enjoy the pictures ya.:)
