Anugerah Juara Lagu Ke-24

It was my first time stepping inside Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil to watch this prestigious musical event.

I went there with Anis, Fariz dan Fyruz. Along the way, we also met Ida and Bella.


Well, when we arrived there, the entrance to Aras 4 (which was for the free ticket-ers like us) was already packed like sardine. We just waited there until the door open which is not exactly at 7.30 pm like what was written on the ticket itself. The journey to the door was like hell. It was hot, sweaty smell and not enough oxygen to gasp.

Half an hour later, we managed to get through and we got a free AJL calendar given by the ushers. We got quite a front seat even though it was at the toppest floor.

AJL was hosted by Faizal Ismail, Cheryl Samad and Ally Iskandar just like the previous year.

The show was rocked by a stunting bombastic opening duet performances by Dato' Siti Nurhaliza and Azlan & the Typewriter singing Lagu Untukmu.

The real show started with Estranged singing Aurora, followed by Alyah (Tak Mungkin Kerna Sayang), Misha Omar (Cinta Adam dan Hawa), Hafiz (Masih Jelas), Bunkface (Situasi), Stacy (Pakai Buang), Aizat (Pergi), Hujan (Aku Skandal), Tomok (Rindu Terhenti), Black (Aku Rindu Sayang Kamu), Akim (Bengang), Yuna (Dan Sebenarnya), and Aizat (Kau Aku). Faizal Tahir ended the competition with Bencinta. We were so worried because he was still not in a good health. He sang by using a walking stick and really looked like gonna fall anytime soon.

Overall, all the performances were great! The props were cool and the performance itself very well-prepared. No mistakes had been made by the finalists.

During commercial breaks, we were entertained by Nabil, Sharifah Shahira and Angah, mostly making jokes.


The ending performances were superb. It reminded us about old songs. The performers included Jeffrydin, Jay Jay, Search and Meet Uncle Hussein.

Finally, the winners were announced.

1st place - Aizat (Pergi)
2nd place - Yuna (Dan Sebenarnya)
3rd place - Faizal Tahir (Bencinta)

Best Performance - Aizat (Kau Aku)
Best Vocal - Black (Aku Rindu Sayang Kamu)

We left when Aizat performed Pergi for the last time and had a supper at tasik. Ida and Bella later joined us.
