Berry Picking

Yesterday, me and my housemates plus Joe followed the postgraduates trip to East Yonderton Farm which is located at Renfrewshire near Glasgow. It is located just beside Glasgow Airport.

Since class test is coming up and we want to run from stress, we decided to join this trip. Plus, the transport was provided by them (precisely Ustaz Abduh). His car was kinda full, but we managed to sumbat2 inside it.

When we reached the farm, Abg Hamka & family, Iqmal and Bukhari were already there waiting for more people to come. When we entered the farm, there are many berry shrubs laying there waiting for us to pick their berries. Not only strawberries, other berries such as blackcurrants, redcurrants, raspberries and gooseberries could also be picked from this farm. The rule is after finish picking the berries, go to the entrance to weigh and pay.

We started with strawberries at the front then further back to raspberries, blackcurrants and gooseberries. The only thing that was tasty is the strawberries. The raspberries are kinda sour and tasteless, the blackcurrants are extremely sour and weird while the gooseberries are kinda okay if they are soft enough. The hard ones are sour as well.

After finished picking and paying, we had a picnic under a tree on the farm compound. The postgrads brought fried rice, fried noodles, nuggets, fries, sandwiches and biscuits. Kalau tau ada potluck, mesti kitorang pun prepare makanan. Huhu.. Then, Ustaz Abduh gave some tazkirah during the feast.

After that, rain poured heavily. I heard that city centre was also raining. We rushed to the car and headed back to the city.
