Yati Ayam Percik | Kota Bharu

Assalamualikum and salam pantai timur~

Okay, a couple of months ago, we had a family trip to East Malaysia which covers Kelantan and Terengganu. My brother was having a study week, so we dragged him along. In Kelantan, we didn't do much except visiting Pantai Cahaya Bulan and also shopping at Rantau Panjang which I will blog about it later.

So in Kota Bharu, we managed to try this famous ayam percik which is very well known as one of Kelantan's specialities. Restoran Yati Ayam Percik. This restaurant was featurend in Jalan-jalan Cari Makan too. Thus, I guessed the food must be very special and delicious. This restaurant is located at Jalan Long Yunus, Kota Bharu.

To be frank, I got 3 different reviews from my friends who are originated from Kelantan. Miss A said that it is not as good as it was promoted. Miss E however said that it is the best ayam percik in Kota Bharu while Mr. H said that he never heard about this place before. Hahaha.. So we just try our luck to eat there hoping that it will be good.

I had ayam percik with rice while my dad tried with nasi kerabu. This restaurant also served a lot of kuih-muih Melayu. My mom bought several pieces of onde-onde. So, we ate our meal trying to evaluate and judge its taste. I'm sorry, but I had to agree with Miss A. The ayam percik wasn't very good like I initially imagined. It was merely just okay. The chicken was too dry and not tender. Next time, tak nak makan kat sini lagi. =.=

Ok, malas nak tulis panjang2.. Layan jela gambar2 kat bawah ni ekkk..

This restaurant also has a franchise in Seksyen 7, Shah Alam. Care to try anyone?

Kelantan - Pasar Siti Khadijah & Pantai Cahaya Bulan

Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah

This market is one of the significant landmarks in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. For my mom, it's a must to drop by here to shop for some fruits and vegetables. It's a good place to purchase fish crackers (keropok) and kuih-muih as well. I like the keropok with sira berlada. Pedas2 manis gitu.. =D

After finished with the shopping, we continued our journey to Pantai Cahaya Bulan for sightseeing.

Pantai Cahaya Bulan or Pantai Cinta Berahi?

Whatever it is, this beach is very well known as PCB. In English, it can be translated to Moonlight Beach. Tapi ada ke orang panggil Moonlight Beach? Hmmm.. This beach is located not far from Kota Bharu, only about 10 km.

It has been ages since I last stepped my feet here. It was few years back, I didn't remember the exact year. We came here just to take photos, to observed what the beach looked like after all these years. Urmmm, for me it is quite the same except the pondok there. Tak ingat pulak dulu ada pondok ke tak.. The view is still magnificent with blue sky, wide sea and also shiny bright sunlight.

After having a few lompat2 shots, we went back into the car and drove off. Along the way, there are a lot of batik shops. Therefore, we stopped for a few times because my mom wanted to buy some batik. I'm working in government sector but still haven't bought any batik shirt. Hahaha, don't know when to buy it. Because generally, batik shirt ain't cheap. =.=

Next destination? Rantau Panjang!

PRP Week 6 - Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM)

Assalamualaikum & selamat bekerja peeps~

This week was my 3rd week in TDM department in HSI. So far, I have only managed to clerk about 19 cases which means that I still have 21 more cases to clerk. In TDM, it's a must to clerk at least 40 cases related to TDM. Since I have 4 weeks in TDM, thus I should clerk 10 cases per week. I'm kinda behind the schedule actually.

Next week, I have to do a presentation about my case. My preceptor already picked a case for me which includes two TDM drugs which are digoxin and vancomycin or digoxin with amikaci. I will present either one of these cases. I haven't prepared the slides yet because right now I'm pretty occupied with my family. I still got time to do it when I go back to Johor Bahru later.

TDM Workstation

This week, I only worked for 3 days as Thursday was Sultan Johor's birthday. Thus we got one day leave. However, I extended my leave on Friday so that I could go back to my hometown, Shah Alam for a longer period of time. Yeayyyyy~

Forensic Exam / Peperiksaan Perundangan

On Monday, all PRP had to sit for Forensic Exam as one of the requirement to be an FRP next year. And me must pass with at least 50% marks. For me, this exam is quite tough although it's an open book exam. We only be allowed to bring in two law books and code of conduct. The SAQ is kinda straightforward, the only problem was that I felt like wanna write everything into the answer sheets. But when I reached the later questions, my answers all became short. Hahaha.. For MCQ, this was very tough. Flipping the books made the exam more time consuming. I didn't manage to complete all 50 questions, I think I missed around 3-5 questions. Same for SAQ, I had no time to the the final 6 marks question. Let's hope we all pass without needing to re-sit for another paper. Malasnyaaaaaa...

*****

Malang tidak berbau, I encountered some incident along my way back to Shah Alam on Wednesday night. My car broke down in Yong Peng because of overheating. So right now, my car is still in the workshop in Yong Peng. That night, my brother picked me up from Melaka and I stayed there overnight. My parents came on Thursday to bring me home. I got to chance to have lunch with one of my besties, Badd in Melaka. Luckily, he had no classes that day. Thank you for keep me a company. :D

I'm going back to Johor tomorrow by bus. I guess I need to carpool with my colleague to go to the hospital next week because my car will only be ready on Thursday. Huhuhu, I'm so carless right now.. Meaning that I cannot go out unless to go to work..

=.=

Takpe, kalau Allah uji kita dengan satu kesusahan, insyaAllah akan dibalas dengan dua kebaikan.. So, just be happy now~

 :)

Souvenirs from Ho Chi Minh City

Yeayyyyyy! Alhamdulillah, I got more souvenirs from my best friend, Emie.. Thank you sooooo much! Gomawo chinguya! XD

From Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Also known as Saigon for the locals.. :)

Mr Cendol @TF Batu Gajah

So, right after coming down from Cameron Highlands, we had a quick stop at TF supermarket in Batu Gajah, Perak. There's a yummy cendol stall here according to my brother. It's called Mr Cendol. Actually, there are many Mr Cendol franchises in Malaysia after we Google-ed about it. The nearest from our house is located in Carrefour Subang Jaya.

Mr Cendol has been operating since 1952. Wow, that's a long time ago even before I was born into this world. Besides cendol, they also serve asam laksa, mee rebus and rojak.

Cendol

Asam laksa

Rojak

Mee rebus

The cendol was delicious and refreshing. The cendol was soft and the sweetness depended on how much sugar syrup that we poured into the bowl. The red beans were very tender as well. Slurppp.. The food was great as well. I really enjoyed the rojak mee. The asam laksa was however a bit spicy. Meleleh peluh kalau hirup kuah laksa tu.. Hehehe..

Anyway, there are other Mr. Cendol franchise in Carrefour Subang Jaya. I've been there before, the food is the same but the price is double. *omomooooooooo*

PRP Week 5 - Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM)

Hi ya!

This week, I only worked for 3 days because of Deepavali and Awal Muharram breaks. Ahhhh, so nice! I wanna work 3 days every week boleh tak ? XD

So basically, this week was quite the same like last week except that we encountered rare cases of cyclosporin, tacrolimus and methotrexate. These 3 drugs are very rare unlike gentamicin, amikacin and vancomycin. For tacrolimus and cyclosporin cases, there were not very urgent, so you can keep it for later. Oh yea, it's kinda compulsory to have TDM gentamicin everyday. That's what we did everyday. Calculation for baby is easier than adult. Only required one value.

We're mostly free during the morning, so Steven and I went to ward round to fill our logbook. I still yet not receive the confirmation for TDM presentation but I think it would be probably next week.

Hospital Sultan Ismail, Johor Bahru

Everyday kena menghadap komputer ni..

TDM kena clerk 40 cases ok.. =.=

We also have to sit for Forensic Exam on Monday. A subject which I never learn in school unlike the local students. I guessed this is one of disadvantages of studying overseas, we won't be learning about Malaysian Laws.

Forcing myself to study is a very difficult task. I'd rather be sitting in front of laptop doing other stuffs than doing revision. During Deepavali break, I went out with my best friend Lukman who was having one week of university break, to Legoland and also watched Skyfall. While on Awal Muharram, I followed my family to Legoland which is located in Nusajaya, Johor. Thus, making me go to Legoland twice this week.

Good luck to us! I hope we all can pass forensic exam in our first attempt.. :)

Cuti-cuti Cameron Highlands (Post Convo)

Assalamualaikum & have a good day peeps!

Ini entri yang sangat2 tertunggak ye. This trip happened a couple of months ago right after my convocation at IMU Bukit Jalil. After the convocation, we dashed off to Taiping for my brother's engagement ceremony. We stayed at Taiping overnight and continued our journey to Penang. In Penang, we beraya at Wanji's house, Boboi's house and also grabbed the opportunity to shop at Hard Rock Hotel Penang. Hehehe..

After that, we drove on a hilly road up to Cameron Highlands by taking Simpang Pulai route. There are two ways to Cameron Highlands, the other one is from Tapah. However, the Simpang Pulai route is generally safer and less curvy than the other one. We reached Tanah Rata at night around 9 like that. We stayed in this lovely apartment promoted by my brother's friends. The Camerons. It's a very lovely apartment with 3 bedrooms with English-style decoration. Astro is provided as well. :)

That night we had a chitchat before dozing off. So, our itinerary started on the next day.

English-styled apartment.. Who wouldn't want it?

KHM Strawberry Farm

This farm is a must for us to visit if we're at Cameron Highlands. It is located in Taman Sedia also in Tanah Rata. Here, they served scones with strawberry jam and cream and also some other strawberry products like homemade ice cream, fresh and dried strawberries and strawberry jams. I love the ice cream although the topping is very sweet. Having the ice cream without the topping is much better I guessed. Then I took a few photos with the strawberry plants.

Momo!

Kea Farm

My sister didn't plan to buy any vegetables or fruits here but we dropped by here for a couple of minutes to buy strawberry-designed alas kaki for my nieces. It's best to go here in the morning as there will be less crowded and can park your car easily. All of the products are from here so they must be very fresh. They sell corns, sweet potatoes, cabbages, cactus, fresh flowers and many more. Singgah kejap jek.. Hehe..

BOH Tea Plantation

This place is amazing. The scenery was breathtaking. It's all surrounded with green. Inilah keindahan ciptaan Tuhan. Sangat indah, permai dan menenangkan.. Also refreshing! Very beautiful indeed. :)

Actually, we were planning to have tea there but since today's Monday, therefore it was closed. So we diverted our journey up to Gunung Brinchang. We stopped a few times to capture our moments with the teas. Momo must be very happy because I dragged him/her along.

Mossy Forest

We encountered this forest while driving up to the peak of Gunung Brinchang. There's no one here, empty. I think because today was a working day, so people didn't go up here except on weekend. We slowly parked our car because the road is a bit steep. Your bumper might be scratched id you didn't park properly. Then, we climbed the wooden steps into the forest. So, what's so special about this Hutan Lumut? It's simple. There's a lot of mosses here! Especially on the tree barks. If you are lucky enough, you can see pitcher plants (periuk kera) here. Oh ya, I brought along my Momo as well. Hehe.. We didn't walked the trails until the end but turned back at half way. Time was the limiting factor here. We really need to go back to Shah Alam later.

Cameron Valley Bharat Plantations Tea House

Finally we got the chance to have teas in Cameron Highlands. After having a quick tour in the souvenir shop, we sat down to have a hot tea. I chose honey lemon tea since I was still having sore throat at that moment. There's a free wifi here as well. :)

We spent a few minutes here before continuing our journey down the highlands. We took the Simpang Pulai route again because my brother wanted to have cendol somewhere in Batu Gajah. Slurrpppp...

Since I've been to Cameron Highlands for a quite numerous of times, therefore I didn't buy many souvenirs. Only a few magnets for my close friends and for me as well.
